What is this? Ok I get it... But WHY do I need it?

So last week I ordered some pencils for my kids. I've decided for a long time now that at every holiday/special day that we "celebrate" in our class the kids gift from me will either be a pencil or a book or both. They don't need anything else plus 7 year olds EAT pencils. (How else could we go through so many every week?)
I usually try and buy the pencils at walmart because they're $3.50. I couldn't find any st. Patrick's Day Pencils though plus we have Dr. Suess week next week. So I got on Smilemakers.com because I had a $10 off coupon (I try to only ever buy anything if I have a coupon or it's on sale.)

One thing funny about Smile Makers is that they send out a few samples of their items with your order so they can try and get you to buy more stuff...The following are picture of one of the items I got in use (and yes I didn't know what it was until I read the directions!)

So I'm ready for it... Why would a teacher (who if they're anything like me spend most of the day TEACHING) need this?
Any creative ideas for how I can use it? Or maybe you would like it? I can't wait to hear your ideas...

Will pencils stick out of it? Or do you have Ipods in your classroom? Do your passes for the nurse or office or lunch count fit in it?

It would get more use as a candy bar holder in the life of a teacher. I wonder if a snickers or butterfinger would fit?
