Pictures from Days 1 and 2 in San Diego

I LOVE San Diego... we had quite the first 3 hours in the city. No one seemed in much of a hurry to help us. We waited for at least an hour at the rental car place with some very ODD people. But, we got a Dodge Caliber (which I'm trying to convince John that one of them should be our next car) which is really nice/exciting. Then we headed to Bali Hai for lunch and had a wonderful view of the harbor. We also waited there for our check for FOREVER but we had a great view! We headed to our hotel, which is actually much nicer than I expected, and it's in a great location in Mission Valley. After that we went to Sea World for an hour or so. After Sea World we went to Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego. That is quite the mall! We ended the night with some chile rellenos from El Indio (which we wanted to try from watching them made on Guy Fierre's Diners, Drive Ins and Dives TV show). It didn't live up to all the hype we had given it in our heads but it was still good. We had a really rough night with the people upstairs getting in around 3:00.

I need to go to bed, but here are the pictures from the first two days... I'll write about our trip to the zoo tomorrow. Oh yea... I took A TON of pictures ;)

I'm a Professional!

So our laptop is working again...YEAH! In fact i write this post from it sitting on my couch... Oh how I missed it! We had quite the adventure getting it working again. First I chatted with the Customer service people at HP she connected me with a company that sells a device that turned my old computer hard drive into an external hard drive. That was really cool because then I was able to get all of my stuff off of the old hard drive and not loose it! Then we bought a new hard drive (250 GB for $90.00 we thought that was a great idea since HP wanted us to pay them $600.00 for the 120GB hard drive replacement) which when we got it home said "ONLY TO BE INSTALLED BY A PROFESSIONAL". I decided I was a professional (even i it has nothing to do with computers) so I tried it. (This was at 6:00 Saturday Night). It took 3 hours to install the 4 recovery disks and then it took all night to install the first 119 updates. Sunday morning there were 27 more updates to finish doing and then installing all of the software and such things. The rest of Sunday was spent transferring all of our documents, pictures, music, etc. to our new computer. All in all I now consider myself a professional computer hard drive installer. Any takers? I can fix it right up! It's really more tedious than difficult! But we're back... now the only thing left to do is clean up the computer were borrowing so we can get it back to the owners. Thanks again for lending us your computer!

New Blog...

Hey everyone... I just wanted you to know that I've started a new blog. It is about my journey through life with PCOS and Endomitriosis. Since beginning my personal blog I have found a lot of help, support, hope and courage through reading other blogs about people issues and struggles with infertility. You can find it at http://endoandpcos.blogspot.com/. Feel free to check it out... I'm also considering making this personal blog of mine private... anyone have any opinions about that? I know the copier etiquette post is quite popular!

What is this? Ok I get it... But WHY do I need it?

So last week I ordered some pencils for my kids. I've decided for a long time now that at every holiday/special day that we "celebrate" in our class the kids gift from me will either be a pencil or a book or both. They don't need anything else plus 7 year olds EAT pencils. (How else could we go through so many every week?)
I usually try and buy the pencils at walmart because they're $3.50. I couldn't find any st. Patrick's Day Pencils though plus we have Dr. Suess week next week. So I got on Smilemakers.com because I had a $10 off coupon (I try to only ever buy anything if I have a coupon or it's on sale.)

One thing funny about Smile Makers is that they send out a few samples of their items with your order so they can try and get you to buy more stuff...The following are picture of one of the items I got in use (and yes I didn't know what it was until I read the directions!)

So I'm ready for it... Why would a teacher (who if they're anything like me spend most of the day TEACHING) need this?
Any creative ideas for how I can use it? Or maybe you would like it? I can't wait to hear your ideas...
